The Basics

The private Blue Lagoon Island feels worlds away from Nassau’s bustle and can only be visited via a tour package that includes boat transportation. Tour options include an all-inclusive beach day and a Blue Lagoon Island Segway tour, with dolphin encounters and swim sessions with sea lions available for an additional fee. Meanwhile, kids will be entertained by the island’s aqua park, and the whole family can enjoy water sports like sea kayaking, tubing, and scuba diving.

Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day from Nassau
The entire trip was excellent. Although we paid extra for a clam tent to stay shaded, was comparable to what we pay for umbrella and chairs at our beach SPI. The price included 2 towels and 4 free alcohol drinks for us. Food was plentiful and the water was amazing. Very clean area. Would definitely go back.

Blue Lagoon Segway Safari Tour With Lunch
This Segway was a great time. The training was adequate and I was comfortable with my abilities to drive the Segway. Our tour guides were fun and knowledgeable. We did think the group was a little too large therefore we didn’t get a lot of open wheel time. I would recommend it and would do it again.

We had a great time on the segway tour. We would have liked to spend more time driving around the segways.

Favorite Island in the Bahamas

Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day from Nassau
This was our favorite hideaway spot in the Bahamas. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The no-pressure-to-leave option was great, we had various times to catch the ferry back to our hotel, we loved it so much we decided to stay the whole day. This place was very relaxing and beautiful, the obstacle course made it very adventurous and different than the other beaches, also the option of picking up a tube without having to pay for it or stand in line was great to experience. We opted to do the dolphin experience and must say it too was amazing and unforgettable. The dolphins seem happy and well treated, they do not seem mistreated or overworked. Lunch was included in our package, but it was not very exciting, there are not many options available.

Blue Lagoon Segway Safari Tour With Lunch
The experience was amazing. The tutorial before, guidance during and encouragement throughout was more than we expected. This was our first time on a Segway and we were absolutely thrilled. The guides were knowledgeable, hospitable cordial and friendly. Five stars for this experience and ten if we could give it ten stars.

Blue Lagoon Segway Safari Tour With Lunch
Well run trip but our Segway group was a bit large, there was nine of us and around 20 in total which we feel should have been limited to 10. Lovely but very busy island!

We did the Royal Dolphin experience. It was fantastic! It would have been even better if there were a couple jacuzzis or warm showers on the island for us. We were freezing!!

Blue Lagoon Segway Safari Tour With Lunch
A really fun time. The boat trip to the island was very relaxing and scenic. The Segway tour guide Jefstina was great and lots of fun. The Tour itself was over sand and through vegetation. Lots of photo ops. We had a small tour and it lasted about 1 1/2 hours. The Blue Lagoon offers more activities if you wish and the beach area is very nice. You can spend as much time as you like. A nice touch to the tour was on the return trip the boat dropped you off at the Cruise ship pier.

  • Those traveling to the Bahamas on a cruise can book shore excursions to Blue Lagoon Island.
