Cool Sites, but not the best tour
, Jan 2020
This tour was a great way to get outside of Chiang Mai proper and see some of the driveable but distant sites of Doi Suthep and Doi Inthanon. Although there was heavy haze and smog due to slash and burn farming in Laos and Cambodia, the views were still good and the trip was a good way to see the surrounding countryside of Chiang Mai. Itinerary includes a waterfall (very cool and larger/different than the one you see on Flight of the Gibbon), lunch (excellent and plenty of thai food), and a walk around a Hmong village (looks like any other small village in Thailand. Concrete buildings with corrugated roofs, not grass huts). The reason for 3 stars is that the tour really just provided a means of transportation. Our tour guide didn't have great English or good facts and it felt like he was just pointing out random objects and saying their name in English. The worst was when we'd try to read signs or plaquards and he would attempt to read them aloud to us. Assuming you get a good guide, this is probably 5/5.
Great learning experience & value!

We had a limited amount of time in Chiang Mai and this was the perfect excursion to get the most out of the day. It was culturally educational, we caught a glimpse of the countryside around Chiang Mai, and had a great lunch - Our guide and driver were professional, informative, and hospitable. Highly recommend this trip!
Very good private tour

We've decided to pick the best worth to visit places during 4d3n trip, and found this tour. It's a guided private tour, only the 2 of us, so we are not rushing through the tour, had amber time to each destination and take quite a lot of photos. The tour guide Sid and his driver Peter Pan were very experienced and helpful, the drive were smooth and relax. We stopped by petrol kiosk for toilet and tea break whenever we requested. Doi Suthep is a beautiful temple, must visit when you're here in Chiang Mai. We enjoyed the cold weather up on the mountain especially Doi Ithanon, unfortunately it was foggy and misty on that day, we couldn't get much of chiang mai view, and it started to rain while on our way down, consolation was at least we finished the mountain trail and walkabout before the rain. After all was an nice experience, really enjoyed the cold weather. The tour started 8am pick up from hotel and we got back at 5pm. Overall, nice tour.
