James Bond Krabi and Phi Phi, Amazing Tour in 2 days 1 Night

Overall, our experience on this tour was okey: however, we expected better, particularly for the price of the tour. We liked the fact the tour visited many different destinations. However, it’s worth being aware that Maya beach is closed at the moment and you can only take photos from a few hundred metres away. We really enjoyed the snorkelling but we think it was a bit of shame not to have the chance to do this more often. The hotel on Phi Phi Don was good - nevertheless, the dinner at the hotel was a bit cold. We consider that the tour was slightly overbooked and there was limited space on the boat, especially because you spend a long time siting down and it is not really comfortable. Moreover, we found the group that we went with weren’t really sociable and weren’t keen to interact with each other, and the tour guides could have made more effort with the group too. The fire show in the evening was okay but nothing special and also some of the people that we went with were told off in a really bad way by the guy of the pub as they didn’t order any drinks. I have to say that this situation was extremely uncomfortable to watch and the tour guides could have been more clear that the fire show wasn’t included in the tour price. Also, we felt pressure to provide some tips in different situations during the trip. Finally, one of the tour guides had limited interaction, and didn’t make much effort, with the English speaking tourists compared to the Russian speaking tourists which made us feel a bit isolated compared to other tours that we went on in Thailand where we had much more fun. Overall, if you just want to visit the islands this tour is okey but we think it could have been a lot better.

Firstly despite what I'll write below we did have a great time visiting the sights on this trip. this two day combo trip to phiphi island and phang nga bay was good value for money and ran very smoothly. The reason I wouldn't recommend it is because, though it was an English language trip, the whole thing was in Russian. There were two boats and almost all guests were Russian. The guide was really nice and tried his best but spoke very little English. Other than one french couple every other guest on the two boats was Russian. They were really nice and kind to but my very limited Russian, their limited English or French and google translate wasn't enough to bridge the gap and made the trip feel quite isolated. There was one guide that spoke ok English but she was on the other boat for the first day and kept switching boats on the second. No idea why the one English speaker was assigned to the boat with no English speakers on it... we had to look up the information ourselves about each spot we had visited when we got to the hotel. I brought the issue up with the tour company who responded that there is no Russian language tour and it was an English speaking tour which has optional Russian. They were very apologetic and advised they they had never had this situation before and offered advised that they had addressed the matter with the operator. Maybe it was just a perfect storm situation and a once off but I need to review from my experience.
